Bio

Melissa Kalan is the CEO and founder of the Australian Revenue Management Association Pty Limited.

Established in 2011 the Association represents the interests of the revenue and yield management profession by providing support services to their member community.

Her life philosophy is centred on the principle of “always learning”, and with this, she empowers organisations to lead a revenue management culture from the top down that influences both profits and staff retention.

Her background includes senior revenue management positions within airlines (domestic and international) and major hotels.

Melissa wrote and owns the first nationally accredited VET short course in revenue management and the online Graduate Certificate of Revenue Management in partnership with Torrens University Australia and developed the YIELDMAX ®simulation game licenced to academic institutions.

She also organises the leading revenue management annual conference in Australia that’s brings together all the key members of the tourism accommodation industry to discuss best practice.

Melissa has consulted on various revenue strategy, training, and commercial projects for organisations such as BIG4 Holiday Parks Australia, Discovery Parks, ALH Group, Majestic Hotels, Wyndham Hotels, Choice Hotels Asia-Pacific, Apollo Motor Homes, and Coral Sea Resort.

Melissa is also CEO of a not-for-profit and recognised charitable institution in Hong Kong and Australia with a mission to improve outcomes for women through mentoring and education.
