Bio

Karl is highly regarded for providing strategic insights through visitor and industry analysis, supporting feasibility studies and business cases. Since 2009, he has specialised in regional visitor economy analysis both in Australia and internationally. Karl possesses expert knowledge of visitor market analysis, government policy, official data, tourism forecasting and the key drivers of tourism investment and visitation growth.

Karl has contributed important inputs to ODIN360 projects as diverse as: major tourism region Destination Management Plans; precinct master plans; project feasibility studies; hotel and caravan park feasibilities; and analysis of pressures on regional visitor economies from major projects in other industries. He has also been the provider of cost benefit analysis for major visitor economy investment feasibility studies and business cases, which have been successful in gaining significant government project funding. He has also worked recently with the Australian Government on enhancing national tourism forecasts and the methodology for valuing Australia’s visitor economy.
