Experience Gold Coast
Overview
ODIN360 has successfully completed the Gold Coast Destination Management Plan (DMP), establishing a comprehensive framework to direct the future of tourism in one of Australia’s most dynamic regions. The Plan was developed through close partnership with Experience Gold Coast, Invest Gold Coast, City of Gold Coast, industry stakeholders, and the wider community, ensuring buy-in and ongoing relevance. The project began with a structured inception phase, finalising a collaborative methodology and stakeholder engagement program. Extensive situation analysis provided a clear evidence base, examining accommodation, attractions, infrastructure, visitor trends, and governance models. Subsequent stages included rigorous audits, integration of leading sustainability principles, and thorough engagement with government, industry, and community representatives. Central to the DMP was its future-focus: product and experience diversification, and comprehensive integration of the legacy opportunities from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Robust action plans, timelines, and an organisational framework were developed to support ongoing adaptation and implementation. The Plan’s outcomes include uniting the industry around a shared vision, embedding principles of environmental, economic, and social sustainability, and creating mechanisms for continual monitoring and adjustment. It also includes a supporting action plan. Whilst the final endorsement of the DMP is still to come once formal whole of State targets are finalised by Government, the Gold Coast is now positioned to become a resilient, innovative, and sustainable tourism destination, balancing the needs of visitors, businesses, and the community for the decade ahead.
